One of my favorite pictures in my baby book is of Lisa and Janice holding me. Even though I wouldn't see your family again until after Lisa passed away I always held that picture close to my heart. I wish I could have known her better, but I feel that I do through all I have heard about her from Janice and the kids and my mom. Blessings to your family. I love you Aunt Jan, Danielle, David and Katie. Peace be with you.

To Lisa's loved ones. I will always remember her lighting up our tent at TT with her smile. She kept me sane and kept me smiling when i wanted to go home. I did not know about Lisa's work but reading her tributes makes me feel proud to have known her.

Dear Janice, children, and Lisa's parents and siblings,
I have just learned of Lisa's promotion to heaven full time. Due to my sheltered life I had not learn of her passing till now. I know Lisa from Timber Trails meeting her for the first time when my sister was her camp counselor. When I met her we were friends imediatly and she convinced me to be apart of TT for the next three summers with her. She and I were very close at camp, like many, my summers at Timber Trails are hallmarked by Lisa being a part of them. Lisa I will never forget you. Thank you for the gift of your love to my little corner of the world before your life blossomed into the wave of love for so many adults, and children. Your life and love is everlasting and I am grateful to always have our memories.

Dear Lisa, As I prepare to enter the hospital for yet another surgery, I have your experience and the goodness that came from it as reassurance that my partner and I will be treated as human beings who love and support one another. I will light a candle in church for you and your family, as well as spreading the word about the fund for your family. Sincerely,
Lin

You have touched many hearts. Thank you for standing strong in the name of love.

Jan, I know how difficult those anniversaries of our loved one's passing can be. For me, even 13 years later there still is a little stab in the heart. Looks like you are doing a great job with the kids - I can't believe how they've grown. My best to you and them. It will get easier as time goes by. Hope you got the sympathy card I sent to your office last year.

Know that you all have a special guardian angel always watching over you in Lisa.

Yes it is getting close to the anniversary when we lost our dear Lisa. I have kept all her emails to me, and am amazed at how she was so busy with her life, but still was always there to help out others with Girl Scout activites. The last
song we sang with her was "Taps" and I'll think of her each time I sing it.
She will be remembered always for her smile, her kindness, thoughtfulness and most importantly, how much she loved people. I pray for peace and comfort to all of those who loved Lisa.

She loved all of our children and made them her very own palettes. Whether it was Girl Scouts or Catachism she was a teacher. She also taught us parents to have patience and to remember each child is different and special in their own way. When it comes to adventure and just going for it, I remember her when I want to quit. We loved her and she will be missed forever.

My life is truly enriched by having had Lisa a part of it. Lisa was that friend you dream of having and wish for, but I was honored enough to have. I feel so blessed for being a part of Lisa's world. It was an amazing place to be and I will treasure the memory of her forever. My words can not truly express the amount of joy that she brought to me and my daughters.
Thank you Lisa for understanding me, accepting me, loving me and always making me feel like number one.

To Lisa’s family, please accept our condolences. It has been a long time since I last saw Lisa, but I will never forget her friendly smile, her gentle nature, and how kind she always was towards others. After reading Lisa’s obituary, which described how incredibly involved Lisa was with children through girl scouts, the church, as a teacher, and of course as a parent, my wife commented ‘how did she have the time and energy to do all of that?’ I smiled and said, ‘that is what she likes to do; help other people.’
Thinking about Lisa and her contributions to the world will help us become better people by being better contributors and worrying less about the small stuff. Lisa will not be forgotten.

It's been many years since I've seen Lisa, but I have so many wonderful memories of her from middle school and high school band and Girl Scouts. I knew Lisa as a gentle, sweet and accepting young woman, who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone!
I can't imagine what it is like for you as you grieve for Lisa: your Mom, your partner and best friend, your sister, and your child. My heart reaches out to you all in this difficult time. My family and I are praying that God's love will comfort you, and support you as you grieve in Lisa's passing, and as you celebrate her full and loving life.
Lisa's heart was huge, and it was my honor to be her friend.
Peace & Blessings to you all,

At the close of camp each year, we held a campfire to signal the passing of another summer. This song, often sung and written by a fellow staff member Donna, may best express how Lisa will forever be on the minds and in the hearts of all her true summer friends at Camp Timber Trails.
How do I say goodbye to you, my true summer friend. Though the summer is gone and our ways we must go, our friendship will never end.
Through many and many a winter and fall. I'll be remembering good times to recall. But I'll be thinking of you most of all, My true summer friend.
How do I say good bye to you, my true summer friend. Though the summer is gone and our ways we must go our friendship will never end.
So goodbye my friend, farewell my friend. And thank you for being my friend.

For Lisa's children:
The young mother set her foot on the path of life. "Is
this the long way?" she asked. And the guide said: "Yes, and the way is hard.
And you will be old before you reach the end of it.. But
the end will be better than the beginning."
But the young mother was happy, and she would not
believe that anything could be better than these years. So she
played with her children, and gathered flowers for
them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and
the sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried,
"Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."
Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was
dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother
drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said,
"Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."
And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and
the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary.
But at all times she said to the children," A little patience and we are there."
So the children climbed, and when they reached the top
they said, "Mother, we would not have done it without you."
And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up
at the stars and said, "This is a better day than the last, for my
children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness. Yesterday I gave them courage.
Today, I've given them strength."
And the next day came strange clouds which darkened
the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped
and stumbled, and the mother said: "Look up. Lift your eyes to the light.
" And the children looked and saw above the clouds
an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the
darkness. And that night the Mother said,
"This is the best day of all, for
I have shown my children God."
And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and
the years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent.
But her children were tall and strong, and walked with
courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her,
for she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill,
and beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide. And
mother said, "I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end
is better than the beginning, for my children can
walk alone, and their children after them."
And the children said, "You will always walk with us,
Mother, even when you have gone through the gates."
And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates
closed after her. And they said: "We cannot see her
but she is with us still. A Mother like ours is more than a memory. She
is a living presence......."
Your Mother is always with you.... She's the whisper
of the leaves as you walk down the street; she's the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks; she's the cool hand
on your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives
inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from, your first home; and
she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love
and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can
separate you.
Not time, not space... not even death!
Know that your Mom is always with you and that she will watch over you forever!

I am truly saddened to hear this news and my thoughts are with Lisa's (or Pizza as we all knew her)family. As many of the other entries in this guest book show, Lisa was special part of the Camp Timber Trails family and we all remember her forever as that camp counsellor who was continually smiling and upbeat when the rest of us were feeling alittle tired. My image of her will always be her smile and her ability to make everybody feel like her special friend.

Jan, Michael, Danielle, David, Katy, and all of Lisa's family and loved ones,
I never knew a person as unselfish and loving as Lisa Pond. My partner, Marilyn (Jan's sister), and I jokingly referred to her as "Saint Lisa." She seemed determined to share her love and good fortune with the less fortunate of the world, and did that by taking in four children in need of a loving home, doing so unconditionally. Lisa's well of love seemed bottomless. She truly demonstrated Christ's love in the world. She was and will remain a great inspiration to all who knew her. Lux eterna, Lisa

Mr & Mrs Pond, Sue, Tim, Michael & Cathy,
I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news of Lisa's passing. Although I haven't seen her in many years I have lots of memories of Lisa from growing up: rollerskating in the garage, playing in the old tree fort in the back yard and lots of band and girl scout events. Lisa spent what seems like a whole day trying to help me start a tee-pee fire at Timber Trails once and then even she gave up because I was so hopeless! But no matter what she always had that smile. She will obviously be missed by the many people she touched in her life. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
