CURTIS, Loretta

Loretta "Faye" (Moquin) Rivers Curtis, 73, of East Windsor and formerly of Rockville, wife of the late Joseph F. Curtis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, (March 3, 2013) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Burlington, Vermont, the daughter of the late Bertrand and Cecelia (Peryea) Moquin, she lived in Winooski, VT, East Hartford and most of her life in Rockville with a brief time in North Carolina before moving to East Windsor two years ago. She was a caregiver and home health care provider for several years. She was a member of the Ellington Congregational Church and the Red Hat Society. Faye enjoyed cooking and being with her family and friends. She loved to crochet and would make blankets for her family and friends. Faye liked to sing and make puzzles. At one time, Faye and her late husband Donald E. Rivers owned and operated the former Diamond Bar & Restaurant in Rockville. She is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Patricia Marie Rivers, and also known as, Pasha Marie Lemnah and her spouse Lori of Raleigh, NC and her son, Ian and his wife Barbara, Donald E. Rivers, Jr. and his wife Lynda of Coventry and their children, Elisabeth, Kathrine and Danielle, Diana Lynne Pettigrew and her husband Kirk M. of Wethersfield and their children, Jacquetta and Jasper, Rachael C. Rivers-Morin and her fiancé Mark Akeley of East Windsor and her children, Cecelia Faye and Aaron, and her youngest son Troy Joseph Franklin Curtis of San Jose, CA; two brothers, Richard Moquin and his wife Patricia of Middletown, and Ronald Moquin and his wife Barbara of Windsor; a step brother, Raymond; a sister-in-law, Marie Moquin and many nieces and nephews. Faye was also predeceased by a brother, Bertrand Moquin, a step sister, Sharon and a half brother, Alan.
Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, CT. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Ellington Congregational Church, 72 Main St., Ellington, CT. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Memorial donations in Faye's memory may be made to the Caring Connection, 330 Windsor Ave., Windsor, CT 06095.
