ADAMS, Martha Elizabeth B. Martha Elizabeth (Burus) Adams, age 80, of Plymouth Rd., Westbrook, passed away Sunday, (November 27, 2005) at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, beloved wife of Charles W. Adams. She was born in Hartford on March 25, 1925, daughter of the late Anthony P. and Theodora (Sirus) Burus. Mrs. Adams moved with her husband to Westbrook in 1970 and was married for 59 years. She stood by her husband while his Navy career took him from coast to coast and around the world. She was a member of the Westbrook Senior Citizens and was a former member of the Columbiaetts. She was devoted to her family and will be sadly missed. She is survived by a son Charles W. Adams Jr. and his wife Karen of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Sara and Kate Sampson, Dawn and Kenneth C. Adams, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adams is also survived by a son-in-law Richard Sampson. She is predeceased by a daughter Cynthia Sampson; a grandson Charles Irving Sampson and a brother Frank Burus. Funeral procession will leave the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, December 2, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church in Westbrook. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook following the mass. Memorial Contributions may be made to Middlesex Hospice, c/o Middlesex Hospital, 55 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT 06457 or to a donation of one's choice.
