Mary J. SANDQUIST Obituary


Mary J. Sandquist, 81, of Wethersfield, CT, beloved wife of Robert A. Sandquist for 54 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2012 after a long illness. Mary was born in Hartford, CT to the late Samuel Canino and Helen Laduzenski. Besides her husband, Mary is survived by her children and their spouses: Helene Sandquist and fiancé Joe Sena, Lauri and Dean Gozzo, Dawn and Steven Shane, Michele and Randy Civiello, Robert and Karen Sandquist; her cherished grandchildren, Robert and Nicholas DiLoreto, Summer Aiken, Sean Sandquist; and the family dog Kaluha, who held a nightly vigil by her side. She was predeceased by her adored son Raymond and brother Ray Canino. Her career began as an undercover private investigator for Pinkerton's where she met her beloved husband. She also worked as a waitress and hostess for several years, until her surprise "Baby M" was born. Mary was known for her home cooked meals, opening her home to family and friends, stern lectures about life and lots of love. Rest in peace mom, you are home.
Funeral services will be Monday, 11 a.m. from the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN, 511 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Elizabeth Seton Church, Brook Street, Rocky Hill at 12 noon.
