GUARCO, Michael Bruno III
Michael Bruno Guarco, III, 30, of Granby, beloved son of Michael and Judith Guarco, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, (August 12, 2013) in East Granby. Born in Hartford on February 28, 1983, son of Michael Bruno Guarco, Jr. and Judith (Cook) Guarco of Granby, he grew up in Granby and was a proud graduate of Granby Memorial High School's Class of 2002. Michael attended Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland and traveled extensively during that time. After completing his undergraduate studies, he began graduate studies at Quinnipiac University and graduated with both a Masters in Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate. Most recently, Michael had worked as a legal consultant at Murphy, Laudati, Kiel, Buttler, & Rattigan, LLC in Farmington. Michael was an avid reader and learner who was passionate about history, travel, and languages, being fluent in Italian and Spanish. Michael enjoyed watching all types of sports and became an avid soccer fan after living in Europe during college. Most of all, he loved his family and good food and he worked to make every family gathering a celebration. He was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed visiting his relatives and exploring his roots. Michael was a lifelong communicant of St. Therese Church in Granby. Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Peter Andrea Guarco of Boston, MA; two sisters, Anna Marie Guarco and her husband Charles Cheney of Granby, and Lila Kelly Guarco of Granby; a niece and a nephew, whom he adored, Isabella and Brodie Cheney; his paternal grandparents, Michael B. Guarco, Sr. and Eileen Guarco of East Granby; two uncles, Alan Guarco of Granby and John Guarco and his wife Karen of Granby; five aunts, Mary Anne Guarco of Granby, Catherine Cook of Granby, Susan Hohl and her husband Thomas of Buda, TX, Mary Jane Cook and her husband William Gough of Mansfield, and Patricia McMullan and her husband James of Pomfret; a great aunt, Dorina Guarco Konopka of Washington, D.C.; and numerous cousins and other relatives in the United States, Argentina, Italy, and Norway. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Peter and Mary Cook.
Family and friends may gather TODAY, 10 a.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby, followed by a Funeral Mass, 11 a.m., at St. Therese Church, Granby. Burial will follow in Granby Cemetery, Granby. Michael's family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Michael B.
