Michael TERZI Obituary

TERZI, Michael J. Michael J. Terzi, Wallingford, with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Michael Julius Terzi on Thursday, (November 12, 2009), he was 40 years old. He was born in Meriden, CT, on January 12, 1969. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jennifer Gannon Terzi; his 3 sons, Michael "Mickey" Terzi, Troy Terzi and Trevor Terzi; and his daughter Alexis Gannon. He is survived by his parents, Al and Carolyn Terzi of Middletown; his grandmother Alice Zimmerman of New York; his brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Susan Terzi of Wallingford; his sister and brother-in-law, Andrea and Ralph Archer of Meriden; his mother-in-law Mary Ann Gannon of Wallingford; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maureen and John Roche of Wallingford, Maryanne and Peter Graeb of Wallingford, Jessica and Michael Polansky of Wallingford, and William Gannon of Wallingford. He was a loving and devoted uncle to William and Weston Terzi, Delaney and Reece Archer, Johnny, Jaclyn, Stephanie and Rachel Roche, Ryan and Billy Graeb, Michael, Jocelyn, and (Godson) Jesse Polansky, and Billy, Jeremy and Casey Gannon, all of Wallingford. He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He now joins in heaven his maternal grandparents, Julius and Caroline Escoto; his paternal grandfather Armond J. Terzi Sr.; his father-in-law Bill Gannon; his sister-in-law Agnes Gannon; his niece Danielle Gannon; his aunt Lynn Escoto; and his cousins, Matthew and Jay Escoto. He graduated from Xavier High School in 1987, attended UConn and went on to graduate from Post College, where he earned a degree in accounting. He was employed as the controller at Record Products of America, in Hamden for several years. Michael was a loving and devoted husband to Jennifer, and a loving and devoted father to his children. His pride and joy were his children and seeing them learn, live and grow. He especially loved watching his boys play sports and at times was their coach, but was always their biggest cheerleader and fan. He was a very hands on father and could not have been more devoted to his children. He was a huge N.Y. Yankees fan, N.Y. Giants and a Notre Dame fan, where his son Mickey attends high school. You could find him on many sidelines of his kid's events and games with a camera in hand to capture those special moments. He was a movie and trivia buff and loved family gatherings and the holidays. He was a great man, who lived life to the fullest. Our loss is devastating, and he will be greatly missed forever. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Sunday, November 15, from 3-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated directly in Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 N. Colony St., Wallingford, Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Terzi Children Education Fund, c/o The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, CT. 06492. www.wallingfordfh.com

Dear Michael...as you look down from above, you must be beaming with pride and admiration with what your beautiful wife has accomplished in your name..with your talented children. She has had a difficult time; doing most on her own, but knowing YOU were with her every step of their way. It speaks volumes how much your wife and children loved you..for they show their love with actions and dedication to their future. Knowing Mike for years, I can imagine his ONLY thoughts are of his children and how they live their lives to the fulliest. And, also knowing Mike, I am certain he is very confident in Jennifer. Rest in Peace!

Honey,
It has been almost a year since you left us, but the pain I feel never goes away. We miss you so much. You were such a good son, someone to be proud of. Your boys are doing well, but miss you so much. Jennifer is doing a wonderful job with the boys. She is keeping them busy and very active in sports. Mickey and Troy just love Notre Dame and are doing so well in school. Thank you for getting them in there. You are still working from above for them. We look forward to when we can all be together again.
With My Love Forever,
Mom [Kook]

Mike was a great friend to me. I had moved to the Hartford area in 1990 from Phoenix, AZ due to a job offer with the Home Depot in Berlin, CT. Mike was one of the first people I met there. He made me feel so welcome and we immediately became friends. He took me on a tour of his Dad's studio, and played golf with Al too. What a treat that was for me. I moved back to Arizona in 1992. Now, here in 2010, I contacted his father, asking how to contact Mike. Mr. Terzi told me the heartbreaking news of his passing. What a kind soul Mike was to me, welcoming me when I didn't know anyone after the cross country move. After a box or so of Kleenex, I find myself writing here in his obituary page. Mike, thank you for being a true friend to me. I will never forget you. I hope to see you again soon.

Your friend,

Eric.

I had a great time with Mike helping him when we coached Trevor and my son Ryan in Wallingford Little League A-ball. I can still see him when his older sons were playing and we would talk about the umpires and the little kids or at the All-Star Tournaments. It was a great pleasure meeting him and my heartfelt condolences go out to his Wife, Children and the Terzi Family. Mike is going to be missed.

Mike was always a cheering fan at the Sidewinders baseball games during the summer of 2009. You could not have asked for a greater fan and dedicated father. He always had positive things to say about each of the players and he will be missed by us all. Please know that our prayers and thoughts are with you in your loss.

Dear Jennifer and Children: May God bless you all during this dark hour. I worked with Mike and he and I would talk about you and the kids CONSTANTLY! You and the kids were the light of his life. For some reason a thought that remains vivid is one day he wrote you a poem and was leaving work to get you a box of canolies because they were your favorite. I asked him if it was your anniversary and he his reply was "No, I just love my wife and want to make her day because she's not feeling well" ... or something like that. My point is, he was a very special and caring man ... a great family man! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. GOD BLESS!

To the Terzi Family,

Our deepest sympathies are with you all at this sad time. We lost both of our only children - our youngest daughter was hit by a car at age 15 on Nov. 3, 1978 and our oldest daughter had complications with the birth of her 3rd child at age 31 and died 3 years later on Nov. 2, 1994. The real pain lessens with time but the hurt never completely goes away. The holidays & birthdays are particularly difficult even today. Trust in God & he will help to heal you. The Peace of the Lord be always with you. God Bless you all.

Dearest (((((Al, Carolyn, Jennifer and Family)))),
I am so very sorry to read of the sudden death of your handsome, beloved son, husband and father, Michael…please accept my deepest condolences.
There are no words that can help ease your pain related to this tragic event in your lives, just know that we care and understand. I pray that you find the peace and comfort surrounded by loving family and friends and in the happy memories of Michael’s life.
For me to tell you that you will feel like you did before this tragedy would be a lie. Each of us handles our grief differently. The tragic death of Michael will forever change your life. My only advice is to take one moment at a time, ride the waves of grief and devastation as they approach and don’t be afraid to express your feelings. No matter what they may be. Michael’s children will need much love and compassion as they are grieving deeply also. Hold them close and always remind them of how much they are loved.

Al and Carolyn, I truly understand how having a child die can change your life. My 11 year old daughter, Danielle Marie was killed in a terrible auto accident in Massachusetts in February of 2006. She died of a massive head injury at the scene of the accident. My wife and I live in Southington, CT.
Please know, all you, Michael and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers for continuous strength and comfort each day.
God Bless you all.
With Deepest sorrow,

He is going to be greatly missed. I will miss seeing you beautiful smile and your hugs when I saw you. Hope you took the keys with you. I will always think of your kind light hearted spirit. Will miss you with all my heart. love you Anne

The picture with Mike's smile is what I always remember about him. He was such a great and kind person and words can't describe how we feel. We were privileged to know him and hope your family heals in due time. Shocked and extremely saddened to learn this news, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Jennifer and family:

I am still in a state of shock with the passing of Mike, he was such a great guy always had a smile and a gentle word. I know he loved you and the family very much, because that is all he would talk about. He is now your Guardian Angel and he will keep you all strong. You, Lexie and the boy's have a great family support system and that is what it is all about. love all of you,
