KOHAN, Myrtle B. (Giddings)
Myrtle B. (Giddings) Kohan, 91, of Quail Drive, Tariffville, wife of the late Mihat Kohan, died Sunday, (July 29, 2012) at Hartford Hospital. She was born June 19, 1921 in Simsbury, daughter of the late Morris and Gertrude Giddings and had lived in East Hartford prior to moving to Tariffville fifteen years ago. Mrs. Kohan was a Fuse Assembler at Ensign Bickford in Simsbury during World War II. Myrtle enjoyed spending time with her family and loved all animals, especially her cat, Missy. She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews including Peter and Susan Zahorodini of Simsbury, Gary and Debbie Zahorodni of Avon and Debra and Steve Farrell of Weatogue and many great-nieces and nephews including Kelly, Kate, Peter, Jamie, Andrew, Chelsea and Sarah. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law and dear friend, Mary Zahorodini.
There are no calling hours. Funeral service will be held Friday, August 3, 10 a.m. at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in the Pine Meadow section of New Hartford. Memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06109.
