NADEAU, Normand G.
Normand G. Nadeau, 79, of Windsor, beloved husband of 56 years to Anita (Mascaro) Nadeau passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, (March 28, 2013). Born Aug. 18, 1933 in Biddeford, ME son of the late Adonius and Emilia (Gauvin) Nadeau he grew up in Biddeford, ME, after high school he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. and served during the Korean War and continued to be a proud marine. After the war he moved to Hartford, he owned and operated a Sunoco Gas Station on North Main St. for a number of years before owning and operating Normand's Auto Repair on Palisado Ave. in Windsor from 1974-1995. After retiring he worked for Southern Auto as a driver. Normand was very connected to the town of Windsor, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Democratic Town Committee, the Conservation Commission, served as Justice of the Peace and helped start the Shad Derby Race. Most of all, he was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his wife, Anita, he is survived by his son, Norman A. Nadeau and his wife, Cara of West Willington; his daughter, Lisa Hounshell and her husband, Michael of North Granby; a brother, Roger Nadeau of Biddeford, ME; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Elyse and Andrew Calnen and Alex Nadeau.
His family will receive friends Monday, April 1, 2013 from 4-8 PM at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Family and friends may gather Tuesday, April 2, 2013, 9 AM, at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Gertrude Church, Windsor. Burial with military honors will be in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Windsor. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to
