MARTIN, Onias A.
Onias A. Martin, 77, passed away on Monday (August 27, 2012) at the Summit at Plantsville. He was the husband of Lucille (Blanchette) Martin. Born August 4, 1935 in St. Agatha, ME, he was the son of the late Albert and Amanda (Martin) Martin. Onias was employed by Fafnir Bearing of New Britain and was a cabinet maker for Martin Cabinets in Bristol for many years. He was also a parishioner of St. Thomas Church. Onias enjoyed fishing, gardening and the outdoors. He was also an avid Red Sox fan. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Diane Wight and her partner Thomas McCurdy of Meriden, Danny Martin and his wife Carol of Burlington, Bruce Martin and his wife Mary of Meriden, Gary Martin and his wife Darlene of Plainville, Paul Martin and his wife Tricia of Bristol; three brothers, Richard Martin and Jean Martin of Southington and Omer Martin of New Britain; three sisters Evangeline Thibault of New Britain,Viola Wilkins of Southington and Corrine Munson of Kensington; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Conrad and Reginald Martin.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Friday morning from 8:30-10:30 a.m. For online condolences and directions please visit www.dellavecchiafh.com.

Pepe will be missed forever. He was the best grandfather a girl could ask for. Even though the sorrow will be in my heart forever I take comfort knowing he's in Heaven hanging out with the angels, other family members that have pre-deceased him and David's daddy. I love you Pepe. Rest Peacefully.
