Orrin McFarland Obituary

McFARLAND, Orrin A., II Orrin A. McFarland II, 51, of Ridgetop Road, Wallingford, died Wednesday, (June 9, 2004) at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne A. Szuba McFarland. Orrin was born August 23, 1952, a son of Orrin A. and Marian Malone McFarland of Northford and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He had been employed by SNET as a SoftwareTechnician in the New Haven offices for 22 years, and later worked at Computer Science Corporation in Rocky Hill for the past six years. Mr. McFarland was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church. Besides his wife Jeanne, and parents, Orrin and Marian, he is survived by his son, Michael D. McFarland of Wallingford; his sister and brother-in-law, Regina and Gary Johnson of Ansonia; his brother, David McFarland of Northford; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward F. and Dorothy DeGray Szuba of Westfield, MA; and two nieces and a nephew. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext. Wallingford, on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Mr. McFarland's memory may be sent to the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your husband, a good father, and our friend Orrin. I knew him only through our years and SNET and CSC, and some smaller social gathering. Always will remember his enjoyment of life and his sense of humor. God has now granted him piece and comfort. I'm sure Orrin will continue to watch over those he loved so much.
