I met Pat shortly after I began working at the MP station. He introduced himself to me and was friendly and kind. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

My name is Officer Nicolas T Houlihan from Chesapeake Virginia (CPD). I ride bikes for Law Enforcement United a charity organization that raises money for the COPS foundation and the ODMP. I have the privilege of riding in memory of Patrick this year as we ride from southeast VA to Washington DC on May 10th to par-take in National Police Week. I take this honor very seriously and would like to make any possible contact with his family or friends to let them know more about what we do and find out as much about Patrick as I can. I will be wearing an engraved metal bracelet with Patrick's information and EOW date it. I'd like to turn this memento over to the family after the ride. God bless and stay safe! Pat,
John and I just found out about your passing today , 01/27/11. We were so shocked. You were like a hamster on a wheel always going, going, going...I always joked with you that you never seemed to stop working even when you were off duty :) We never imagined that someone so fit, upbeat, thoughtful, and funny would never live to be a ripe old age, sharing stories of your heroic exploits with loved ones, family, and friends. You were the epitimy of the COPS show cop. Pat, there was no one like you. You were my fellow police academy classmate, DA police buddy, and top gun rival :) If I know you, you are still out in the world rescuing damsels in distress and helping to catch the bad guys. Except now you're doing it as an invisible angel. I don't think you would be happy any other way. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (James 15:3) Everyone was your friend. The good guy, the bad guy, and even the stranger. You were a hero in life and an even greater hero in death. God bless you and your loved ones until we meet again.

I'm so glad Vincent and I were able to attend Pat's funeral. Wow - I always thought he was a really fun and nice person to be with but what I heard yesterday was amazing. Vincent has always talked so highly about Pat and he will miss him so much. My sincere sympathy and prayers go to each of you. May God give you His strength, His help and His hope.

Reading all these tributes about my former brother-in-law brings back so many memories. He really was a special person and even though I haven’t talked to him in years, just knowing he is no longer with us here on earth brings tears to my eyes. My emotions are mixed though, because I know he is up in heaven with his dad Roger and my brother Ken. They’re up there together, keeping watch over us. Gretchen and I are praying for all of you and wishing you strength to get through each day, peace to comfort you and memories to sustain you in your grief. I met Pat in 2004 when he and I both served at Fort Hood as Federal Police Officers for the post. Pat was a caring individual, and more often than not, Pat went above and beyond the call of duty, so for him to stop and render assistance to a total stranger does not surprise me, it only validates Pat personality, his commitment to his profession, and to the public. Pat my friend, you will be solely missed, but not forgotten. You gave me many laughs.

Pat, Karen and the Sirois family, words cannot convey the depth of sorrow Sam and I feel, this is a tragic loss. Pat was a wonderful person full of laughter and life. He always had a smile for everyone, brightening even the worst of days with his words "Dynamic Duo or There is My Hero". Those words will ring in our ears every time we think of Pat. He was the true Hero, inspiring others and putting everyone before himself. Stars fell from the sky the night Texas lost it's son. Once in a while life’s pathways allow us to cross paths with a person who is genuine and real. Pat had an endless capacity for the needs of others and was only capable of goodness. Pat would have done anything in the world for anyone who he thought he could help. He was full of love and brought fun and laughter with him everywhere he went. I know a few men who are not shadowed by Pat and his greatness. You have set the bar high for us all. You were a wonderful person and a greater friend you will be missed by many. I have lost a true friend. Pat always smiled and seemingly never had a bad day. He was a truly dedicated professional who always motivated us and kept the job fun. Pat loved law enforcement and truly gave his life helping others. Pat and I had many discussions over the years and it was obvious that he truly cared about those he served. Although I know Pat attained the rank of Sergeant Major before retiring from the Army, I always knew his as 1SG Sirois. He was hard but fair, and it wasn't until a while after he left the job that I truly appreciated the man he was and the things he did for our unit. I absolutely hate that Pat's gone, but the fact that he died helping a stranger tells you what a great guy he was and that he put others ahead of himself all the time. He will be missed by many more people than he could have ever imagined.

Pat, it's hard for me to grasp the fact that you're no longer here. You're the one I turned to and called when I needed advise about being a cop and the first one on my mind when all heck broke out at Fort Hood last November. Your smile was completely contagious and you were a friend to so many.
