PETRUCCI, Robert S.

Mr. Robert S. Petrucci, 76, of Bristol passed away Friday, (May 25, 2012) at Bristol Hospital. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Augustyniak) Petrucci. Mr. Petrucci was born July 19, 1935 in New Britain a son of the late Albert and Cecelia (Todzia) Petrucci. He attended local schools and proudly served his country in the US Army from 1953 thru 1956 during the Korean War as a Military Police Officer. He was a New Britain Police Officer from 1958 thru 1975 and also served as president of the police union. Mr. Petrucci also was a meat cutter for Shop Rite retiring after many years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Eddy-Glover Post # 6 of New Britain where he was a past commander, the VFW Post 511 of New Britain and the BPO Elks Lodge #957 of New Britain. He loved to cook, was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family. Mr. Petrucci was a communicant of St. Matthew Church. Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Jennifer Tucci and her fiancée Todd Parker of Bristol, Ronald Petrucci of New Britain, Dawn Grodzki and her husband Les Sideman of Kensington, Deborah Petrucci of Plainville and Denise Petrucci and her husband Billy Seneschal of Plainville, his brother Alan Petrucci and his wife Jeanette of Newington, his sister Carol Brown and her husband William of Bristol, 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Petrucci and sisters Lorraine Romano and Linda Petrucci.
Funeral services for Mr. Petrucci will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad St. in Plainville to St. Matthew Church in Forestville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain. Family and friends may call at Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a .
