Roman SOKOLSKY Obituary


Roman Sokolsky, 61, of Hartford, passed away unexpectedly Friday (June 8, 2012) at home. Roman was born in Hartford, and was the beloved son of the late Roman and Anna (Pryshlak) Sokolsky. He lived in Hartford his whole life graduating from Bulkeley High School and attending Northwestern Community College. Roman was a member of the Ukrainian Plast Organization and had a lifelong passion for music and nature. Roman is survived by his sister Oresta Baldassari of Everett, MA and his brother Orest Sokolsky and his wife Lucy of Southington, CT. He also leaves behind nieces, Alana and Nina Baldassari, nephew Alexander Sokolsky and grand niece Livia Riggin.
Funeral rites for Roman will be held Friday June 15, 2012 with a Panakhyda service at 10 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker / Farmingdale Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, CT, with the Rev. Stephan Bereza, Pastor, presiding. Committal service and final resting place will be in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker / Farmingdale Funeral Home, Friday from 9- 10 a.m. Directions to funeral home: I-84 East or West - Exit 37 (Fienemann Road) right off exit - one mile down on right.
