Aceto, Rose Emma


Rose Emma Aceto, 81, of Manchester, beloved wife of 64 years to Pasquale "Nene" Aceto, passed away on Saturday, (October 13, 2012) surrounded by her family at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Emma was born on Jan. 10, 1931 in Dayville, daughter of the late Wilfred and Irene (Blais) Lapalme and had been a resident of Manchester since 1945. She was employed as a Key Punch Operator for Travelers Insurance for many years. Emma was a Communicant of St. James Church in Manchester. She had many hobbies, including playing bingo and scrabble, traveling, going to the casino, cooking and hand painting porcelain and china. She was always there for her family, having taken in many relatives over the years to care for them. She loved and lived her life to the fullest and her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always the most important part of her life. Besides her husband Nene, she leaves her daughter, Patty Monseglio and her husband, Kenny of South Windsor and Patty's two children, Paul Taft and Christie Ecott; her son, Bruce Aceto and his wife, Lisa of Coventry and their two daughters, Emalee Aceto and Hillary Aceto; her daughter, Lee Sullivan and her husband, Brian of London, England and their three children, Kyle Sullivan, Jesse Sullivan and Ashley Unzicker; Emma also leaves seven great-grandchildren; Paul Taft, Brianna Taft, Finley Ecott, Joshua Sullivan, Nathan Sullivan, Georgia Unzicker and Jonathan Unzicker; her sister, Anita Dubois and her husband, Ray of Burlington; numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her twin sister, Rose Alma Kleinschmidt. The Aceto family extends special thanks to Dorothy, Joy and Gail for their love and support and the many casino and bingo trips. Nene, Patty, Bruce and Lee would also like to recognize Lisa, Christie and Shaun (from The Hospice Hope Team) for their dedication, compassion and attention to detail over the past several weeks, as they made sure every need was met, to keep Emma as comfortable as possible.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 4-8 p.m. at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
