HAUGH, Russell Frederick
Russell Frederick "Russ" Haugh, 89, of East Hartford, formerly of Manchester, husband of the late Margaret "Greta" (Swain) Haugh passed away on Saturday (November 17, 2012) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Russ was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed. Russ was born on February 21, 1923 in Manchester son of the late Archibald and Mary Jane (Herdman) Haugh. He was a veteran of WW II serving his country in the US Navy. Prior to his retirement in 1986, Russ was employed as a Tool & Die Maker with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 46 years. He was a member of Friendship-Tuscan Lodge #145 A.F. & A.M., the Sphinx Temple Shrine A.A.O.N.M.S. and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason of the Valley of Hartford. Russ was a member of the Sphinx Temple Legion of Honor, the False Alarmers and a member of the Jesters. He was a member and past President of the Oasis and Omar Shrine Clubs and a member of Orange Lodge LOL #117. Russ is survived by his two sons, Russell F. Haugh Jr. and his wife, Jane of Coventry and Richard A. Haugh of Manchester; two grandsons, Greg Haugh of Coventry and Eric Haugh of Manchester. He also leaves his brother-in-law Edward Swain Jr. and his wife, Shirley and his sister-in-law, Patricia Zatkowski all of Manchester and several nieces and nephews living in Connecticut and Texas. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by two brothers, William Haugh of Arlington, TX and Robert A. Haugh and his sister, Barbara A. Haugh both of Manchester.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Masonic Service to be held at 7 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24th, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in East Cemetery, Manchester.
