Obituary Condolences

ACETO, Ruth P. Ruth P. Aceto, beloved wife of 60 years of John Aceto, died peacefully at her home Thursday (October 12, 2006). Born in Manchester on July 8, 1923, daughter of the late Gertrude (Coleman) and George Patten. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Manchester and had attended St. Bartholomew Church. Ruth and John have been happy part time residents for the past 23 years of the Fenwood section of Old Saybrook and attended St. John's R.C. Church. Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Manchester High School. She retired from Aetna Life and Casualty Company after a successful career as an Executive Secretary to past presidents. At the time of her retirement, Ruth was employed as an Aetna recruiter. Ruth will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid traveler, reader and spent many happy times visiting the casinos. Besides her beloved husband, John, she leaves a son, Larry Aceto and wife, Stevie of Manchester; a daughter, Laurie Aceto of Manchester and a daughter, Lynn Policella and husband Richard of Medfield, MA; her beloved grandchildren, John and Michele Ditmer of Tolland, Cailin Aceto of Manchester, Katie and Pete Borofsky of Manchester, Michael Aceto of Boston, MA, Shaun, Justin and Ryan Policella of Medfield, MA; great-grandchildren, Christina and Brian Ditmer; beloved sister, Eleanor Coleman; sister-in-law, Ann Lavallee; brother-in-law, Joe Aceto, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Nene and Emma Aceto; and sister-in-law, Fran Aceto. Ruth is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. Ruth was predeceased by her sister, Kate Coleman. Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 16, 9 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St, Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call Sunday, Oct. 15, from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
