Salvatore Frasca Obituary


Salvatore Frasca, 98, of Rocky Hill, loving husband of the late Josephine (Marci) Frasca, passed away on Thursday (July 24, 2014) at his home. He was born on April 1, 1916 in Pozzallo, (Prov. Ragusa), Sicily, Italy, the son of the late Tommaso Frasca and Concetta Galazzo. For 50 years, Sal was the proprietor of Constitution Plaza Barber Shop on 20 Kinsley Street in Hartford, where he was the barber to his loyal clientele until the age of 92. He served in the Italian Armed Forces and spent several years in a British prisoner-of-war camp in North Africa during World War II. Sal came to the United States aboard the steamship, Olympia, and arrived in New York on July 29, 1950. He married Josephine on October 8, 1955 and became a US citizen on November 13, 1959. Sal leaves his beloved son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Salvatore Frasca Jr, and Tara B. Manion. A funeral service will be from the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill on Friday (August 1, 2014) 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
