Obituary Condolences

Theresa Ann (Carbonero) Catania, 57, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife and childhood sweetheart of John R. Catania Sr., died Thursday, (January 9, 2003) with her family by her bedside at New England Medical Center, Boston, MA. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Darola) Carbonero, she lived all of her life in Rocky Hill. She was a dedicated and caring mother and grandmother and a true friend to all that knew her. Besides her husband, she leaves four loving children; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Brenda Catania Jr. of Port Charlotte, FL, Frank and Annmarie Catania of Rocky Hill, and Michael and Linda Catania of Durham, a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Frank Portonova of Wethersfield; seven sisters, Marie Tyrseck of Haddam, Virginia Ollari, Patricia Nordgren and Dolores Latina, all of Rocky Hill, Barbara Ollari and Carol Messner, both of Middletown and Connie Kaika of Durham; mother-in-law, Angeline Catania; and nine adoring grandchildren, Danielle and John Catania III, Frankie and Anthony Portonova, Frank, Vincent, and Joseph Catania and Alexa and Nicole Catania; 16 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a broth Ralph Carbonero. Funeral services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m. from the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN, 511 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church, Rocky Hill at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery. Friends may call TODAY from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
