ALTIUS-ANDERSON, Veronica Cynthia
Veronica Cynthia Altius-Anderson, 56 of Hartford, CT and formerly of Morne Citon in St. Lucia, West Indies. Our beloved mother and friend lost her battle with cancer on Thursday (August 25, 2011) at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born February 19, 1955 in St. Lucia to the late Leon Altius and Leona Altius and resided in Hartford, Connecticut. Veronica Cynthia Altius-Anderson was employed by the Hebrew Home in Bloomfield, CT. She was a loving mother, devoted to her family and friends and always available for guidance and support. She enjoyed traveling and exploring, watching tennis, sci-fi and spent lots of her time with her closest friends. She will be most remembered for her faith, guidance and support she showed to her family and friends and the love she gave to her children. In addition, she is survived and will be dearly missed by her sons, Gervin Brandon Joseph and family of Saint Lucia, Wilky Johnny Joseph and family of Venezuela. Her daughters: Augusta Cleotha Joseph of Saint Lucia and Stancy Jana Joseph of Indiana. Her brothers: Norbert Altius and family, Matthew Altius and family and William Altius and family of St. Lucia and several Aunts and Uncles. Her sisters: Madeline Isaac and family of New York, Frances Louis and family and Christina Duncan and family of St. Lucia. Grandson, Ziyair Geronie Joseph. Godson, Kaffara Roberts. Nieces, Rosemarie Duncan of South Africa, Twyla Altius of New York, Jemima Louis of Pennsylvania, Donna Louis, Natackie Isaac, Urslyn Duncan, Jernan Duncan and Weslyna Duncan of St. Lucia. Nephews, Johnny Altius, Isaiah Isaac, Nehemiah Isaac and Winston Duncan of St. Lucia. Cousins, Muriel Jacob of Connecticut, Jean (Mr. Blue) Altius of Texas, Lucille Altius and Florie Altius. Her family, Jeanne Fedee and family of Connecticut, Veronica St. Luce and family of St. Lucia, Olive Dosithe of St. Lucia, The Dosithe Family of St. Lucia, The Altuis, Duncan, Isaac and Michaud Families of St. Lucia. Her best friends, Dorothy (Peggy) Pamphile, Catherine Daniel and Olive Cook of Connecticut. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Home, 94 Granby Street, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Veronica's memory to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 500 St. Jude's Place, Memphis TN 38105.
