MILLAS, Wayne John
Wayne John Millas, 59, passed away on August 6, 2012, at his home in Bozrah, CT. Wayne was born on October 24, 1952, in Springfield, MA, to Soto and Jennie Millas. He graduated Longmeadow High School in 1970 and the University of Massachusetts in 1973. After college, Wayne took his love of science to Connecticut, were he worked as a bio-chemist at Pfizer until retiring a few years before his passing. He is survived by his two sons, Damian and Jason Millas, their wives - Sara Millas and Jenn Millas, and his grandchildren - Gabrielle, Samantha, Talia, and Gino, his mother, Jennie Millas, and his brother and wife, Gary and Renee Millas. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Soto, and his brother, Michael. Family was most important to Wayne, and he always looked forward to the annual Millas Family Reunion in which cousins, nieces and nephews gathered. Wayne was a well-traveled man. He walked the Great Wall of China, he visited the lands of his ancestors in Greece, Italy, and Turkey, and he toured the bulk of Europe and enjoyed many cruises to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and Alaska. Often he took family and friends on his trips, from New York City to South Carolina, some place tropical or halfway across the world. A kind and loving man, Wayne enjoyed spending time with his many good friends as well as music, theatre and the arts. He was also a great neighbor, always making himself available to lend a hand when needed. Even in his days of retirement, he was always trying to keep up with the latest evolutions in science and technology. Well read and ever curious, Wayne was a constant thinker. Never passing down a challenge. He was always game to try and "do-it-yourself." Although taken too soon, Wayne leaves a loving legacy and many sweet memories.
