William "Bill" C. Sataline, Jr., 73, of Windsor Locks, CT loving husband of Gaile E. (VanNess) Sataline entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Hartford Hospital. Bill was born September 13, 1940, in New Britain, CT the son of the late William Sr. and Caroline Grace (Wood) Sataline. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Bill retired as Post Master from the East Windsor Post Office in 1996 after 35 years. During the 70's Bill served as was a Supernumerary Police Officer for the Berlin Police Dept. and also a former member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Dept. Bill was a faithful parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Windsor Locks and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Msgr Greylish Council 3675 in Kensington. He was a member of the following, the American Legion Gensi-Viola Post No. 36, the Interstate Police Officers Association and the National Association of Post Masters Retired. Bill enjoyed spending time at the beach clamming, boating and fishing, but he cherished the time spent with loved ones. In addition to this wife, Gaile, he is also survived by his sister, Carol Richardson and her husband, Robert of Orleans, MA; three step-children, Elizabeth VanNess of Collinsville, CT, Michael VanNess and his wife, Robin of Riverton, CT and Eric VanNess and his wife, Jill of Agawam, MA; five step grandchildren, Jillian VanNess, Erica VanNess, Alan Hudak, Shavone Gauthier and her husband, Paul and Jason Mackay and his wife, Allyson and four step great-grandchildren. Bill also leaves his nephews, Seth Richardson and his wife, Hattie, Peter Richardson and his fiancé, Meredith; a niece, Katherine Carr and her husband, Kevin; great nephews, George and Henry Carr, Milo and Felix Richardson; cousins, Mary Centurelli, Roger Recck, Frank Sataline and his wife, Roberta and Donald Sataline and his wife, AnnMarie. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Sunday, July 27, 2014, from 2-5 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT. A funeral procession will gather at 10 am at the funeral home on Monday, July 28, 2014, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm St., Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery in Berlin, CT with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hartford Hospital Fund Development, c/o Palliative Care, 80 Seymour Street. Hartford, CT 06102-5037.
