Spencer Lang Obituary


Spencer Lang, 95, of Berlin, and most recently of Tucson, AZ, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2014, at Tucson Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Kent) Lang. Born in Hoboken, NJ, a Newington resident for 39 years, he spent time in FL and VA followed by more than 10 years in Berlin, CT, and most recently lived in AZ. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by the New Britain Machine Company in New Britain, in multiple roles as a mechanical design engineer where he was responsible for the design of many innovative machining solutions. For many years he was an active member of the congregation of the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield. A loving and devoted father and grandfather, he leaves his two sons, Jeffrey S. Lang and Mark S. Lang of Tucson, AZ, and his granddaughter, Savannah Lang of Warwick, RI. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Spencer Kent Lang. His funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Following the services, he will be laid to rest beside his wife in Center Cemetery, Newington.
