Rene S. Boccamaiello Obituary

Rene S. Boccamaiello, 88, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Joseph V. Boccamaiello; passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Born January 22, 1926 in Scotland,UK; she grew up in Clydebank,Scotland, and survived the Blitz of World War 2 before coming to the United States in the mid 50's. She lived in New Haven, Hartford and Bloomfield, CT, settling in Windsor in 1964. In her native Scotland she was a Draftsman for John Brown Shipyards. She spent her early married life as a housewife and later worked as a librarian at Clover St. School. Rene was a member of the Hartford Bridge Club and the Jewish Community Center where she was an avid swimmer. She traveled extensively to Europe, usually on board the Queen Elizabeth II. She also had a great love of gardening. Rene is survived by two sons, Martin S. Boccamaiello (Bonnie) of East Hartford, Nicholas F. Boccamaiello of Windsor Locks, two daughters Elizabeth D. Boccamaiello of Windsor, Christine Boccamaiello-Huggins of Clinton (the late William E Huggins), step grandsons, William Huggins (Michelle) of Mattapoisett, MA, Brian Huggins (Ana) of Fairhaven, MA; two brothers, the late George Dickson (Connie), Alec Dickson (Katherine); grandchildren Joyce, Colin and Kirsteen, brother-in-law, Dom Damato (the late Nan D'Amato) and their children Robin and Sandy, and numerous great grandchildren. Special thank you to her caregivers, Lorna Christie, Winnerfred Williams and Phyllis Baker. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Carmon Windsor Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
