Lynn O'Brien Obituary


Lynn O'Brien, 92, of Bloomfield and formerly of Windsor, wife of the late John "Jack" O'Brien passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014. Born in Mount Vernon NY, daughter of the late Harry and Doris Harris she graduated from Stuart Hall High School in Staunton, VA and attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. Lynn moved to Windsor in 1948, where she operated her own real estate company, O'Brien & Susca for many years. She was a former member of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and was active in the formation of Interim House, helping young mothers become independent and self-sufficient. Fiercely independent herself, Lynn was a beautiful woman in every sense of the word. Lynn loved to travel, play bridge, and go to the beach. She leaves her daughter Charron Russo of Sayville, LI, NY; her sons William O'Brien of Suffield, Michael O'Brien of Windsor, Jerry O'Brien of Avon, Kevin "K.C." O'Brien of Aspen, CO, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her husband Jack she was predeceased by her son John O'Brien. Her family will receive friends Wednesday February 19, from 6-8 pm at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 11 AM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home followed by the burial in Palisado Cemetery in Windsor.
