Roger C. Christensen Obituary

Roger C. Christensen, 75, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Hartford Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born on September 25, 1938, he was the son of the late Carl and Anna Marie (Madsen) Christensen. On May 13, 1961, Roger was united in marriage to Ann DeCicco and together they moved their family to Enfield in 1966. Roger was employed with Northeast Utilities (formally CL&P) as an electrical engineer for 38 years before his retirement in 1993. Roger was a talented woodworker and enjoyed listening to classical music, and in his free time you could find him in the yard on his John Deere tractor. He also loved completing cross-word puzzles and faithfully watching Jeopardy every night. Roger's greatest joy came from spending time fishing on his Boston Whaler down on the shore. Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and he will be sorely missed. Along with his wife of over 50 years, Ann, Roger is survived by his two daughters, Deb Bradshaw and her husband, Rich, of Enfield and Karen Enman and her husband, Mike, of Windsor Locks; his three granddaughters, Kristen and Jaimee Bradshaw and Danielle Enman. Roger will also be greatly missed by his supportive lifelong friends and neighbors; and his fishing buddies at the "table of knowledge". Roger's family would also like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of the Enfield CT Multispecialty Oncology Group for the extraordinary care they gave to Roger. Relatives and friends are invited to Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., for a visitation to be held on Saturday, February 22nd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Burial will take place a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roger's name to the , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
