John was known by his family and friends as the consummate gentleman and for his kindness and generosity. John was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Helen (Kosmonaitis) Katin, his siblings Gladys (Katin) Dicklow, Mary (Madeska) Markiewicz, Edward Medeska, Daniel Madeska and two nieces, Joanne Dicklow Rooney and Donna Prete. He is survived by his son, Anthony Katin of East Hartford; his daughter and son-in-law, Georgette and David Brewer of Tolland; his beloved grandaughter, Johanna Brewer of Berlin Germany, and his beloved grandson and his wife, Jonathan and Elaine (Pryputniewicz) Brewer of Somerville, MA.
