Helen Hryniewicz Obituary


Helen J. Hryniewicz, 82, of Enfield, widow of Vetold Hryniewicz (1996), entered into eternal peace Tuesday Feb. 25, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford surrounded by her loving family. A daughter of the late Chester and Katarzyna (Ludwin) Juniewicz, Helen was born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield and had been a lifelong resident of Enfield. She was a member of Holy Family Church. Helen retired from the former Fleet Bank in Enfield after 40 years in the banking business. She enjoyed camping, traveling, the beach, and spending time with her family and close friends. She loved to tell stories and sing songs including her favorite, "You Are My Sunshine" to her children and grandchildren, who called her Babcie. She is survived by her children and their families, Thomas Hryniewicz and his wife Lori of Cheshire, and their children, Joel, Renee, Timothy (Lt. U.S. Army), Matthew, Jonathan, and Nicole; John Hryniewicz and his wife Robin Rustad of Columbia, MD and their children, Elayne and Eric; Katherine Doucette and her husband Kenneth of Nazareth, PA and their children, Hannah, David, Joseph, and Caleb; and Stephen Hryniewicz and his wife Tracey Hardman of Portland, CT; two sisters, Frances Buckley of Somers, and Jenny Hryniewicz and her husband Peter, Jr. of Windsor Locks; a brother, Walter Juniewicz of Enfield; lifelong friend Helen Bursztyn; and numerous nieces and nephews who were all special to Helen. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Bruno Juniewicz. Family and friends will gather at 9 a.m. Saturday March 1, 2014 at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, for a procession to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday Feb. 28, 2014 at Leete-Stevens.
