Raymond J. Guilmette, 89, of New Britain passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at The Hospital of Central CT, New Britain. He was the beloved husband of Olga (Navickas) Guilmette for 66 years. He was born in Lisbon, NH, son of the late Adlore and Florence (Doubous) Guilmette. Raymond was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, New Britain. A U.S. Army veteran; he served his country honorably during World War II. He retired from the New Britain Fire Department after many years of service to his community. Ray was also employed by St. Mary's Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Olga; his sons Richard Guilmette and his wife Katherine of Manchester, Robert Guilmette and his wife Linda of Burlington; his daughter Renee Guilmette and her spouse Deborah Wright of Kensington; his nine grandchildren Eric, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Shannon, Allyson, Erin, Lindsay, Benjamin and Emily. He was predeceased by his brothers Arthur, Frederick and Leo Guilmette and his sister Alice Goslin. His funeral service will begin on Friday, March 7, 2014, 9:00 a.m. from the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St., New Britain. He will be laid to rest with military honors in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
