Philip G. Cole Obituary


Philip G. Cole, 72, of East Hartford, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 with his loving family by his side at a local rehabilitation center. Born in Hartford on July 7, 1941, a son of the late Gordon and Marion (Wanner) Cole, he had been a life-long resident of East Hartford. Prior to his retirement in December 2001, Philip was employed for over 37 years by the Town of Glastonbury where he oversaw the operation and maintenance of the town's eight pump stations and generators. Philip was a talented "handy man" who enjoyed working on his 1946 Ford Coupe, woodworking, painting, and helping others. He also liked going to area Car Shows and was an avid fan of Drag Racing. Most of all, Philip will be remembered as a proud father and grandfather who would faithfully attend their sporting events and school functions along with being a good friend to all who knew him. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Rosamond (Greenwood) Cole of East Hartford. Philip is survived by his devoted son and best friend, Michael A. Cole of Glastonbury; his beloved daughter, Deborah C. Pasquale and her husband, Mark, of Hebron; and two adored grandchildren, April Pasquale and Trevor Pasquale both of Hebron. He also leaves a sister, Jane Walling of East Hartford; several nieces, nephews, former co-workers, and dear friends. Funeral services will be Friday (March 7th) with a celebration of Philip's life at 11 am at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at a later date at Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. There are no calling hours.
