Olga Korba Obituary

Olga Korba, 89, a longtime resident of Newington, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Olga was born on January 3, 1925 in Poland. She was the daughter of the late Dymitr and Maria (Trusz) Popowicz and the wife of the late Maciej Korba. She was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford and in her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and dancing. Olga's greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her three daughters, Donna M. Milik and her husband, Stanley of Newington, Maria K. Modzelewski and her husband, Tadeusz of Bristol, and Teresa Zianio and her husband, Henry of Newington; her six grandchildren, Eva, Elizabeth, Andy, Lela, Ursula and her husband Eric, and Yolanda and her husband, Kevin, as well as her six great grandchildren, Alexis, Taylor, Nicholas, Lukas, Cassandra and Jakob. Besides her parents and husband, Olga was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends may call on Olga's family on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave. Funeral services will begin Wednesday morning, March 19, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. at Newington Memorial to Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Village Cemetery in Wethersfield.
