Kenneth F. Johnson Obituary

Kenneth F. Johnson, 52, of East Hartford, died peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his home with his caring mother by his side. Born in Hartford on April 3, 1961, a son of Ruth (Robinson) Johnson and the late Franklin D. Johnson, he had been a resident of East Hartford for most of his life. Kenny was a graduate of George J. Penney High School, East Hartford, Class of 1979 and of Porter & Chester Institute. He was formerly employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford and A-TEC, Incorporated in Manchester. Kenny was an avid fisherman, skier, hunter and talented Billiards player. He was also a car enthusiast who liked fast cars but most of all, he enjoyed spending time telling stories and jokes with family and friends. Besides his beloved mother, Ruth, of East Hartford, Kenny is survived by a sister, Sherry Lynn Devin of Walterboro, SC; and a nephew, Jason M. Devin and his wife, Kris, of Guam. He also leaves his former wife, Kathleen "Kathy" (Cullen) Johnson of Vernon; two uncles, Charles Robinson and his wife, Corinne, of Lilburn, GA, James R. Robinson and his wife, Suzi, of Mechanicsville, VA; two aunts, Florence Johnson and Lillian Johnson both of East Hartford; several cousins, former co-workers, and dear friends. Funeral services and burial will be held at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada at a later date at the convenience of the family. Kenny's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday (March 23, 2014) from 2-5 pm at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
