Richard P. Salgado Obituary


Richard Paul Salgado, 55, of Farmington, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014. Born in Danbury, son of the late Americo T. Salgado and Marie (Henriques) Salgado of Bethel, he was raised in Danbury and Bethel living in Farmington the past 17 years. Richard graduated from Central Connecticut State University and Americo's School of Beauty and Hairdressing. He opened The Richard Paul Salon in West Hartford in 1990 and operated it until his death. He excelled at his profession and as a result won numerous awards and gained a large following of clientele. Besides hair styling he was also talented in other creative endeavors that included interior and landscape design, and tailoring. He leaves behind his mother and three brothers Edward J. Salgado of New Britain, Thomas H. Salgado of Danbury, and Peter M. Salgado and his partner Kip Saucier of Milford, PA; an uncle Edward L. Henriques; cousins Mark and Patricia Henriques and their son Alexander; as well as numerous other cousins and relatives. He will be missed by dear friends Jo-Ann Cousins, Cyril Nagle, Rachel LaSala, Ken Adams, Ken Simpson, Dennis Morrell, Lauren Willet, Diana Sadler, Paula Fiorentino, Andrea Colelli, Mary Alice Delagrange, Mark Hill, and Brian Wade. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 12 Noon directly at St. Peter's Church, 104 Main Street, Danbury. For Hartford area friends and associates, at Richard's request, a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014, 10 AM, directly at St. Patrick- St Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the Malta House of Care, 19 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105.
