Anna Prusaczyk Obituary

Anna Prusaczyk, 43, of Hartford, passed away suddenly on Wednesday (March 26, 2014) in New York City. Anna was born in Hartford, CT on June 4, 1970 to Bronislaw "Bruno" and the late Halina "Hanka" (Madrak) Prusaczyk. Along with her father, she is survived by her loving family: brother, Chris Prusaczyk and his wife, Kasey, of Bloomfield; sister, Dorothy Mehta and her husband, Ariz, of New York, NY; and the lights of her life, her nieces, Eliana Mehta of New York, NY and Janey Prusaczyk of Bloomfield. Anna is also survived by her aunt, Zosia Konopka and her husband Stanislaw of Hartford and her Godmother, Stephanie Kwasnicki of Andover. Anna was never far from her dear cousins, Barbara (Konopka) Rudini, Ewa (Kostek) Penisse, Dorothy Kostek and Eva Konopka, all of whom were integral parts of Anna's life. She also cherished her special friendships with Gary Neidle of Philadelphia and Pete Savignano of New York and Los Angeles. In addition to her mother, Anna is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Stefania and Leopold Madrak, and her paternal grandparents, Stanislawa and Aleksander Prusaczyk. Anna graduated from South Catholic High School, class of 1988 in Hartford. She won a scholarship to the University of Connecticut, graduating in 1993, with a B.A. in Art History. Anna worked for several years in the retail banking and finance industry in the Hartford area. Anna was truly a Connecticut woman-- she loved the Wadsworth Atheneum, Harkness Memorial State Park (where she often went with the ladies) and the New England Fall (was self described as being very "Autumnal.") Anna was a trend setter-- fashion, music, style, independent films at Real Art Ways and Cinema City. Anna was particularly fond of Cape Cod and vacationed there many times with her close knit group of friends and her sister-in-law Kasey. Anna touched many lives, families, and generations because of her soothing energy, vibrant spirit and larger-than-life personality making it impossible to forget her. Lovely & Amazing was her favorite movie and these same words are truly the best way to describe the daughter, sister, aunt, friend and love of many: Rest in peace Anna, with God and Mama in Heaven, you will always be lovely & amazing. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Prusaczyk family on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 1st at 11:30am in SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, Hartford. Attendees are asked to go directly to the Church. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section Y), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield To extend online condolences, share a memory, and/or light a candle, please visit
