Stella M. Solecki Obituary

Stella M. Solecki (Fox, Blinn), 73, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Stella was the beloved wife for over 45 years of the recently deceased William "Bill" Solecki, Jr. She was born in Windsor to the late Stella J. Fox (Adamowicz, Adams) and Frederick Fox on November 30, 1940. Stella and Bill were married on November 27, 1968, in Massachusetts, before settling in East Hartford over 30 years ago. She was employed by the law firm of Gross, Hyde, and Williams in Hartford for over 20 years. Stella loved family picnics and swimming at Salmon Brook, celebrations with relatives, dining out, vacations, and shopping trips. She also enjoyed horseracing, especially the Kentucky Derby, trips to the Casinos, and Jai-Alai. Most important in Stella's life was her deep love for her life partner Bill, and raising their children and grandchild to be fair, honest, and caring. Stella was a loving mother and grandmother, cherished by her children and grandchild (who she often referred to as her little angels), all of whom loved her deeply and cared for her dearly. Stella is survived by her children, Serena. A. Blinn and her partner Gates Tuttle, III of Orange, MA, Johnny Blinn of Windsor, Laurie R. Bani Essa and her husband Adell of Broad Brook, Sharon Pinkham of Enfield, April Solecki and her partner Tommy Lattarulo of Manchester, and her granddaughter Danielle Barker of Boston, MA. She is also survived by her (in-law) brothers John Solecki and his wife Teddi of Agawam MA, and Michael Solecki and his wife Kathleen of Wilton; her sisters Joanna Kostopolus and her husband William of Chicopee, MA, Sonia Cavanaugh, and her husband Jack of Cleveland, OH and Anna Palmer of Chicopee MA; and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Stella will be held at 4 PM Saturday, April 5 at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home 419 Buckland Rd South Windsor. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2 to 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Chairi and Syringomyelia Foundation, 29 Crest Loop, Staten Island, New York 10312, or at www.csfinfo.org.
