Jean Balesano Obituary


Jean (Berneski) Balesano, 77, of East Hartford, loving wife of over 51 years of the late Richard R. Balesano, Sr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2014. Born in Hartford on October 1, 1936, a daughter of the late Joseph and Delianne (Beaudoin) Berneski, she had been a resident of East Hartford for the past 50 years. Prior to her retirement in 1996, she was employed for 15 years by Phoenix Insurance Company, Hartford. Jean was an avid reader who loved visiting the casinos and traveling to Florida. A devout Catholic, she prayed daily and recited the Rosary faithfully. Most of all, she was a proud and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed being with family and friends. Besides her beloved husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Richard R. Balesano, Jr. of Enfield. Jean is survived by four sons, Joseph P. Balesano and his life partner, Maryann Meade. Of Mansfield Center, Angelo A. Balesano and his wife, Stella, of Enfield, Anthony J. Balesano and his wife, Sue, of East Hartford, Russell E. Balesano and his wife, Jenifer, of East Hartford; a daughter, Deborah B. McCormick and her husband, Rich, of East Hartford with whom she made her home; a sister, June Balesano of Glastonbury; a brother, Joseph Berneski and his wife, Isabelle, of Rocky Hill; eleven special grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Jessica, Stephanie, Brian, James, Nicole, Kaitlin, Amanda, Megan, and Kathryn; three adored great-grandchildren, Madison, Sophia, and Cameron; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday (April 2nd) at 9:30 am from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, May Road/Brandon Road, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, (Section E), East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday (April 1st) from 4-7 pm.
