Rosina Scholz Obituary

Rosina "Pat" Scholz, 80, of Tolland, CT, beloved wife of Arthur G. Scholz, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, March 30, 2014 in the loving embrace of her family. She was born April 16, 1933 in New York City to the late Felice and Olympia Tranchese. She grew up in New York City where she met and married Arthur, and then moved to Greenwich, CT. Pat had a rewarding career at GTE while raising their children. Upon retirement, they relocated to Tolland where she was an active supporter of the arts community and served as president of The Arts of Tolland. Pat loved to share her wisdom and guidance with her family, and cherished her many friendships from Greenwich to Tolland. She brought laughter and great Italian food to many gatherings, and no matter what the project was, she handled it with grace and skill. But, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her children, Elizabeth Scholz Koiva and her husband Allan, Carl Scholz and his wife Leah, Eric Scholz and his wife Darcy, and Nancy Scholz Gerardi and her husband Bill; her grandchildren, John, Lisa and Erika Koiva, Claudia and Dana Scholz, Caroline, Matthew and Sara Scholz, and Jack and Julia Gerardi; her sister, Connie DePalma, her brother, Frank Tranchese and his wife Barbara, and her sister, Camille Scavetta; and numerous nieces and nephews collectively known as the TranClan. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Elsie Fragapane and Pauline DeMicco, her brother-in-law, Walter Scholz, and their families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first-born son, Phillip Scholz. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 4 - 7 pm at The Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road, Tolland, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Church, Tolland followed by a burial at South Cemetery, Tolland.
