Mary L. Wartschow Obituary


Mary L. (Dausch) Wartschow, 85, of Newington, passed away on Friday April 4, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Wartschow. Born in Hartford, she was a Newington resident for over 50 years and a member of St. Mary's Church, Newington. She retired from Keeney Manufacturing Company and looked forward to her dinners once a month with the Keeney ladies. Mary enjoyed spending time volunteering at the Senior Center and playing canasta and mahjong there with friends. She was an avid UConn Huskies and Red Sox fan. A loving and devoted mother, she leaves her two sons, Daniel Wartschow and his wife Judy of Burlington, and Kenneth Wartschow and his wife Barbara of Newington, three daughters, Suzanne Emerson and her husband Randall of Newington, Janet Wartschow and her fiancé William Dickinson, Jr. of Newington and Kathryn Petrozza and her husband James of Hebron, eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mary also leaves her two twin sisters Elizabeth Salerno and her husband George of CA and Veronica Balardini and her husband Thomas of MA, her brother, William Dausch and his wife Elizabeth of MD, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Nicki and A.J. Wartschow. Her funeral service will begin on Wednesday, April 9th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington. She will be laid to rest with her husband in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
