Josephine Bazzano Obituary

Josephine (Pinnone) Bazzano, 91, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Carmelo Bazzano, passed away peacefully at her home on April 8, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 2, 1922 in Floridia, province of Siracusa, Italy to Vincenzo and Paula Pinnone. Josephine was employed for many years as a seamstress for the Coracci Brothers & Company. Josephine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Tina Garofalo and her husband Gino and Paula Panioto and her husband Frank, all of Rocky Hill; her son, John V. Bazzano of Hartford; her cherished grandchildren, Sandra Vassallo, Mark Garofalo, Laura Keleher and her husband Robert, Sebby Panioto and John Bazzano, Jr., along with her great grandchildren, Adam and Alexia Vassallo and Kaylee and Alyssa Keleher. In addition, she leaves her sister, Anna Castagna of Hartford. She was predeceased by her brother, Angelo Pinnone and sisters, Rosina Farinella and Concetta Romano. The family would like to thank Ana Rivera, who provided exceptional, extraordinary and loving care to Josephine and who was considered not only a dear friend, but a family member. In addition, they would also like to thank Vitas Hospice, in particular Josephine's nurses; Kathy, Paula and Denise for their kindness and support. The funeral is Friday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Luke's Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
