Robert Oscar Goodskey Obituary

Robert Oscar Goodskey, 83, passed into eternal rest on April 9, 2014. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Marek) Goodskey for 56 years. Born August 8, 1930 in Canton; the son of the late Oscar and Emma (Bartleson) Goodskey. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a Truck Driver for most of his adult life at Kessler Construction, a member of Teamsters Local 559, and after retirement, drove a school bus for County Motors/DATTCO. He was also a retired member of the New Hartford Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his children, Susan Bascetta and her husband Jim, Robert Goodskey and his wife Robbin, Carl Goodskey, Martha Skinner, Paul Goodskey and his wife Regan and Patty Obie and her husband Dennis; grandchildren, Jamie Bascetta, Tina Hotchkiss, Tony Bascetta, Natalie Goodskey, Lillian Goodskey, Adam Goodskey, Rachel Skinner, Paige Goodskey, Sydney Goodskey, Sam Obie and Sarah Obie; great grandchildren, Sophia Bascetta, Nathan Hotchkiss, Brody Hotchkiss, Luca Bascetta and Toni Bascetta; and his sister, Pat Russell. In addition to his wife, Pat, he was predeceased by a brother, Art Goodskey and step-brother, Theodore Bartleson. Special thanks to the third floor staff at Cherry Brook Health Care Center and to his dear friends, Dodie Murphy and Richard Olsen. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob's honor to Double Dog Rescue, PO Box 435, Unionville CT 06085.
