Carol Ann Parizek Obituary

Carol Ann (Couchevitz) Parizek of Willington, CT entered into eternal life on Friday, April 11, 2014. Carol, 78, was the beloved wife of the late Ralph R. Parizek who passed away on December 8, 2013. Born on November 24, 1935 in Danbury, CT, Carol was the daughter of the late Eva S. Souza and Adam N. Souza. Carol grew up in New Milford, CT and was a graduate of New Milford High School. She attended Virginia Intermont College. Carol spent her summers at the family farm in Ashford, CT. Carol married the love of her life, Ralph, on June 13, 1964. Above all, she was completely devoted to her husband, sons, and grandchildren. She was a caring mother with strong family values who always took great pride in her sons' accomplishments and supported, respected and loved her husband unconditionally. Carol enjoyed living in Willington, surrounded by family and friends. She, along with her husband, enjoyed living next to their beautiful pond as well as the surrounding forests and wildlife. It was at their warm and welcoming home that so many memories were made. She was the loving "Mammy" to her three dear grandchildren: Skyley Rose, Chase Alexander, and Mitchell Adam. Her spunk and charisma were magnetic and she loved nothing more than engaging in long conversations with her many friends and family members. Carol also enjoyed spending her time cooking, traveling, dancing, and gardening. She was a talented artist who loved all forms of art and even owned her own ceramics studio. Carol was devoted to town politics and was a dedicated member of the Republican Town Committee. She was elected to serve on the Library Board, the Board of Tax Review and the Planning and Zoning Commission for many years. Carol was the Chief Clerk of the Stafford Probate Court for 18 years, furthering her passion and dedication to helping others. She is survived by her two sons: Donald C. Parizek and his wife Maureen, and Jody M. Parizek, all of Willington, CT. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Skyley, Chase, and Mitchell Parizek. Carol also leaves behind many family members: Evelyne Parizek, of Willington, CT, Harriette Donaldson of Oakton, VA, and Richard Parizek, and his wife Estelle, of State College, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews: Deborah Lowman, Beth Waddell, K. John Donaldson, James Donaldson, Katarin Parizek, George Parizek, Evelyne Baumrucker, and Byron Parizek as well as their spouses and children. Carol is survived by many cousins in the New Milford area. Carol also leaves behind her beloved Brittany spaniel, Jill. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, with a procession forming by 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Jude Church, 25 Old Farms Rd., Willington, CT. Burial will follow in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
