Anthony J. Rinaldi Obituary


Anthony J. Rinaldi, 89, of Rocky Hill, entered peacefully into eternal life, with his loving family at his side on Thursday April 17, 2014 in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to the late Irene (Malides) Rinaldi. Anthony was born on April 24, 1924 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, son of the late Joseph and Angelina (Catania) Rinaldi. He resided in Rocky Hill for the past 10 years and previously in Windsor and Enfield. Anthony served his country honorably with the U.S. Merchant Marines during W.W. II. After 28 years of service, Anthony retired in May of 1986 as plant engineer with the State of Connecticut, Department of Corrections. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed summer vegetable gardening , but most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family. Anthony is survived by his two loving daughters; Toni Ann Kostek & her husband Philip of Newington and Karen Trout & her husband Donald of Windsor, his three cherished & loved grandchildren; David Kostek, Stephanie Kostek Muller & her husband Jason, and Sara Trout, his beloved sister; Frances Rinaldi of Stafford Springs, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a son Michael Rinaldi, five brothers; Ignario, Carmen, Salvatore, James and Casimino Rinaldi. The family would like to express their appreciation to VITAS Hospice and the Home Instead Agency for the compassionate care provided to Anthony during his final days. Relatives and friends may gather with his family Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a procession to St. Patrick Church, Thompsonville for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will then take place with military honors in the Thompsonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 321 Research Parkway, Suite 212 Meriden, CT 06450.
