Francziszek Rozwadowski Obituary

Francziszek "Frank" Rozwadowski, 85, of Cromwell, beloved husband for 60 years of Jadwiga D. (Szkoda) Rozwadowski, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, (April 17, 2014) at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. Born in Kuszalewo, Poland on April 17, 1929, son of the late Antoni and Maria (Wlodarczyk) Rozwadowski, he was raised in Poland and after the start of World War II, lived in Russia, Palestine and England before immigrating to the United States as a young man. Frank settled in Hartford and after nine years, he moved to West Hartford where he and his wife raised their two sons. Later he purchased land in Cromwell and worked nights and weekends to clear the land and build a home where he has lived for the last 27 years. Frank was very athletic as a young man and played in soccer leagues in England and Hartford. He worked in construction as a plumber for many years and finished his career at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Middletown. He loved to be outside and work in his yard, in his garden, and around his home. Frank always had a project and was a very hard working man who always finished what he started and accomplished a lot. He was a longtime parishioner of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, George Rozwadowski and his wife Nancy of Simsbury and Peter Rozwadowski and his wife Chris of Chanhassen, MN; a sister, Alicja Jankowski of London, England; and four grandchildren, Elena, Adam, Kristen, and Justin Rozwadowski. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lucja Rokicki and Wanda Rozwadowski. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 22, 5-8 p.m., at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Ave., Hartford. Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, April 23, 9:15 a.m., at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
