Judy M. Winalski Obituary

Judy M. Winalski, of Farmington Beloved wife of Joseph S. A. Winalski, to whom she was married to for 61 years, including 21 years of Joe's distinctive Navy career, died Tuesday, April 29. Born in Hartford, CT, December 19, 1932, daughter of the late Antonio and Rosaria M. Amato, she resided in Farmington for many years. She was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy of West Hartford, class of 1950. Judy was the dispatcher for the UConn Health Center Police Department in Farmington. Judy was a real estate broker for over 50 years and was the owner of her own company until her death. She was a longtime communicant at The Church of St. Patrick in Farmington, a Gold Star Mother and was a life member of The Tunxis Senior Citizens in Farmington. Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by her six children; Pamela Rose Winalski and her husband Ardel Petz of Pomeroy, WA, Joseph S. A. Winalski Jr. and his wife Maria of Leola, PA, Patricia Marie Gibson and her husband Tommy of Fayettville, GA, Michael A Winalski and his wife Marjorie of East Granby, Ronald E. Winalski and his wife Sharon of Falling Waters, WV, Donald E Winalski and his wife Patti of Farmington; one sister, Theresa Maffucci and her husband Bernie of Wethersfield; one brother, Dr. Joseph Amato and his wife Ronnie of West Hartford; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brother-in-law; Donald E. Winalski of Farmington. Judy was predeceased by her dear son John Edward Winalski, USN, her brother Anthony Amato and his wife, Eleanor. Friends may call at by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Main St, Rte. 4, Unionville, on Sunday, May 4, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Home will be Monday, May 5, at 9:00 am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in The Church of St Patrick at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Farmington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111 or to the Tunxis Senior Center, 321 New Britain Ave., Unionville, CT 06085.
