Blaise A. Lavigne Obituary

Blaise A. (Poudrier) Lavigne, 70, of Tolland, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was born on February 3, 1944 in Windsor, Quebec, Canada daughter of Marcelle (Lussier) Poudrier of Sawyerville, Quebec, Canada and the late Gerard Poudrier. Blaise lived in Hartford for four years before moving to Tolland in 1967 where she had resided for over 47 years. She was a gifted seamstress and interior designer and she enjoyed sewing and completing puzzles. Her love was her family, especially caring for and spending time with her six grandchildren who where the lights of her life. In addition to her mother she is survived by her two daughters, Lise L. Sinopoli and her husband, Anthony of Manchester and Carole L. Swanson and her partner Gary Kula of Omaha, NE, her six loving grandchildren; Danielle and Joseph Sinopoli and Kerstin, Alexandra, Victoria and Michelle Swanson. Blaise also leaves her two sisters, Claire and Lucie Poudrier and her four brothers and their spouses; Marc and Pauline, Armand and Madeline, Luc and Jacinthe and Maurice and Lyne all of Quebec, Canada, numerous nieces, nephews and their families and her former husband, Gerard Lavigne of Little Falls, NY. Memorial calling hours will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St, Manchester from 6-8 pm with a service to begin at 8 pm. Burial will be private.
