Mary Catherine Horbal Obituary

Mary Catherine (Indelak) Horbal, 93, of Kensington, passed away in her sleep Saturday morning, joining her late husband Peter to tend to the Lord's garden in Heaven. Born in New Britain, daughter of the late Frank and the late Stella (Kowalewski) Indelak, she graduated from Berlin High School, and devoted many hours working on her family farm on the Chamberlain Highway. She was a member of St. Paul Church and the Berlin Polish Political Club, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Frank with whom she made her home, her daughter, Dorothy Chase of Kensington, her sister, Lucy Berger of Cromwell, her brother-in-law, Michael Horbal of Berlin, a grandson, Eric Chase and his wife Narissa, her cherished great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Allison, and Connor, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Victoria Michalowski, Anne Sheley, Helen Pawloski, and Irene Parciak. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, with a funeral liturgy at 10am at St. Paul Church. Burial will follow in West Lane Cemetery, Kensington. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Church, 467 Alling Street, Kensington, CT 06037, or to St. Paul School, 461 Alling Street, Kensington, CT 06037.
