Paul O. Tenan Obituary


Paul O. Tenan, 75, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 53 years of June (Erickson) Tenan, passed away on Friday (May 9, 2014) at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. Born in Cherryfield, Maine on January 25, 1939, he was the son of the late Graydon O. and Julia (Strout) Tenan. He was predeceased by his sister, Alice (Tenan) Willey, and brother-in-law John R. Willey, both of Cherryfield, as well as many beloved aunts and uncles. He had lived in the Hartford area for more than 50 years. Prior to his retirement he was employed for 37 years at Mechanics Savings Bank, holding the positions of Branch Manager as well as Assistant Vice President. In his later years, he worked part time at Aetna Insurance Co. at its Middletown branch. Paul also had served in the U.S Army Reserves. A loving husband and father, he will be dearly missed by his wife June and his son, Bradley Tenan of Wethersfield, as well as many close friends. Paul set an outstanding example of love, compassion, and caring. He was a true inspiration to every life he encountered. His kind and gentle spirit touched so many. His musical gifts, joined by his loving wife and son, entertained the hearts of nursing home residents spanning several decades. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
