Levio Edward Zeni Obituary


January 27, 1923- May 13, 2014 Retired Navy Captain Lee Zeni, age 91 of Annapolis, beloved husband of Demitroula "Toula", died May 13, 2014. Born in New York City, he spent his early years in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and moved to Storrs, CT in 1930, graduating from Willimante High School, Willimante in 1941. A strong, gentle man who loved life and family. He was passionate about golf, achieving a Hole-in-One on the Naval Academy Golf Course in 2009. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, he served in the Navy from 1945-1969 primarily commanding ships. In l969, Lee began his civilian careers devote to preserving and restoring the region's water resources. Lee is survived by wife Toula, together for 30 yrs.; daughter Constance Loucks and husband, Royden, of Frostburg; daughter-in-law Nancy Zeni of Annapolis; four grandchildren: Peter Lyons and wife Megan of Hagerstown; Michael Lyons and wife Beth of Alexandria, VA; Cara Herring and husband Benjamin of Honolulu, HI; Heather Macey and husband T.C. of Phoenix, AZ; great grandchildren Alexis Lyons, Katherine Herring, and Carter and Benjamin Macey; nephews, Joe Zeni of White Fish Bay WI, David Zeni of Harwick MA, Frank Zeni of Annapolis, Tommy Wojick of Providence RI, Bob Buck of Hartford CT, and their spouses; nieces Christine Dorcich of Redwood City CA, Judy Buck, Barbara Buck, and Kelly Bonser all of Seminole FL, and their spouses; and, several grand nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by son, Peter Ernest Zeni; sisters, Anne Buck and Adele Wojick; brother, Frank Zeni; and, first wife Geraldine Zeni. Visitation May 19 3-6 pm, Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester, Annapolis MD. Funeral on May 29 1pm, USNA Chapel with interment at the USNA Columbarium.
