Ann M. Wawruck Obituary


Ann M. Wawruck, 87, of Windsor Locks, widow of Steven N. Wawruck, Sr., entered into eternal peace Tuesday May 20, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. The daughter of the late Attilio and Mary (Balboni) Mobiglia was born July 13, 1926 and raised in Windsor Locks. A lifelong resident of the community, Ann graduated from Windsor Locks High School, class of '44, and was a communicant of St. Mary Church. She was formerly employed for the Windsor Locks Board of Education where she worked as a Secretary for 21 years retiring in 1991. An avid sports fan, Ann cheered for her favorite teams including the UCONN Men's and Women's Basketball teams, and the NY Yankees. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV game shows, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. Ann is survived by her loving children, Steven Wawruck, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Windsor Locks, Danny Wawruck and his wife Wanda of St. Joe Beach, FL, Alan Wawruck of Dallas, GA, and Carol Joyal and her husband Glenn of The Villages, FL; one brother, Raymond Mobiglia and his wife Lorraine of Hamden; eighteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Peggy Mobiglia and Olga Laneri; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Ann was predeceased by a son, John A. Wawruck, a brother, Francis A. Mobiglia, and a sister, Loretta Wheeler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday May 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks (Please meet at Church). Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 23 from 4-8 p.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT.
