Laurie A. Chaplin Obituary

Laurie A. Chaplin, 51, of Windsor Locks, CT loving wife of Lorraine Pinette passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Laurie was born January 3, 1963, in St. Albans, VT the daughter of Sandra (Poland) Chaplin of Enfield and the late Ivan R. Chaplin. She was a graduate of Enfield High School Class of 1981 and was currently employed as a fork lift operator with Plastipak of East Longmeadow in their Chicopee warehouse. Laurie was previously employed with Westvaco in Enfield for 28 years. She was an animal lover of all kinds and enjoyed feeding the many birds in her yard. She enjoyed hiking, drawing, going for long rides on her motorcycle and relaxing watching T.V. In addition to her mother and wife, she is also survived by her three siblings, Robin Hawes and her husband Keith, of Windsor Locks; Joseph Chaplin and his wife, Tammy of Enfield, and Charlotte Laughtery and her husband, Terry of Orlando, FL; her nieces and nephews, Laurie and Sarah Hawes, John McKay, Justin and Jake Chaplin, Maya and PJ Vaidya, Nichelle Phillips, Denielle and Robert Pinette and a very close friend, Dee Dee "Lee" Zononi and her beloved animals. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather on Wednesday, Mary 28, 2014, at 9 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Memorial donations in Laurie's memory may be made to Protectors of Animals, 144 Main St., Unit O, Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118.
