Marian Camp Obituary

Marian B. Camp, 95, passed away Tuesday, May 27, at the Manchester Manor. Predeceased by parents, Albert E. and Annie Aspinall Behrend, husband Rev. Russell E. Camp, and sister Ruth Behrend Mitchell of Louisville, Ky.; Marian was born in Manchester March 26, 1919. She was a lifelong resident, graduated from Manchester Schools, Manchester Community College, Central Connecticut University. A long time administrator for the Shriners' Association of Hartford, Marian participated with Rev. Camp in interim ministry of several local churches. She was a past member of Ellington Congregational Church and Emanuel Lutheran Church. She volunteered with Manchester Band Shell and also with the Manchester Historical Society. In prior years, Marian had her real estate license and was associated with Anne Miller Real Estate. She is survived by her nephew, T. Kent Mitchell, and wife Natalie of Stowe, VT; her niece, Marian "Molly" Davidson, of Concord, MA; step-daughter Priscilla Bazan and husband Peter and step-son Michael Camp and wife Gloria, all of Vernon; several cousins, step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 5, 11a.m. at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester officiated by The Reverend G. Scott Cady of Emanuel Lutheran Church, followed by burial in East Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Manchester Community College, Emanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester, or Ellington Congregational Church. Sincere gratitude is expressed to Manchester Manor for their eight years of devoted care to Marian.
